Dialysis Clinic, Inc. Medical Laboratory Technologist in Nashville, Tennessee
The Medical Laboratory Technologist, under the direction of the laboratory director and under the supervision of the general supervisor, processes specimens, performs test procedures, make preliminary interpretations, maintains equipment, perform quality control and troubleshooting.
This position will work 2nd shift.
Receive and process specimens according to protocols
Properly perform HLA tests according to procedure
Produce, interpret and report accurate and precise test results
Perform procedures related to deceased donor workups including updating UNOS / UNET
Participate in proficiency testing surveys.
Participate in rotating weekend call (approx.1 day/6 weeks) & rotating holiday call (1 / year)
Communicate issues to supervisor or other appropriate individual.
Perform instrument maintenance and method troubleshooting.
Assists in documentation and maintaining effective department QA programs and monitors.
Must hold a valid Tennessee Laboratory License as a Medical Technologist (MT or MLS).
ASCP certification or eligible
Maintains appropriate continuing education for certification and licensure
After 1.5-2 years employment, pass Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) exam administered by ABHI (American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics)
